Indiana Donor Network, formerly Indiana Organ Procurement Organization (IOPO), was formed in 1987 as a result of the merger of the Indiana University Medical Center and Methodist Hospital organ recovery programs.

Other important organization milestones include:

1988 – IOPO’s first organ donation coordinated at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

1993 – Volunteer program founded.

1999 – Tissue and eye recovery services began.

2000 – IOPO Foundation formed.

2015 – New name–Indiana Donor Network–launched.
