Otis A. Carter, Jr.

Otis and his wife Luedith cherished 35 years together. He was a devoted father to his two daughters. Show up, work hard, and give your best effort was a motto he always tried to instill in his children. In his teenage years, he was a standout track and cross country athlete. His passion led him to a full ride track scholarship to Oakland City College where he also continued when he enlisted in the service, received numerous awards and accolades, and held a 49 year high school record. Otis was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and also a proud member of the Tell City Masons and American Legion in Tell City. Once he retired in 2015 after 36 years with Indiana Department of Transportation, he enjoyed taking his daily walks, reading, cheering on any Indiana sports team especially IU basketball, and working outside. Looked forward to the annual family trip to the Indy 500. As part of his selfless act, Otis became a donor hero to three people. His liver to a man and a kidney each to two women. His lungs and heart were donated for medical research, and saved countless others for his skin and tissue donations. We are honored to continue his legacy and to make sure more lives can be saved through organ, tissue, and skin donation. We love and miss you everyday honey and papa bear.

Joel G. Goode

It's been 13 years since we lost a wonderful son. Joel had just turned 26 years old when he was shot in the neck and paralyzed from the chest down. For the next 12 years, he was in a wheel chair. In the prime of his life, he handled his situation with dignity and determination. We will always miss his smile and wonderful ways. We were so privileged to have known and loved him for the time he was here on earth. When Joel passed away, there was no question that he would donate his organs for someone else to be able to live a better life. Joel, you are missed and loved so very much.

Ken was a man who thought of others before himself. Even in death, he wanted others to be given a gift. He was a gently and kind human being.

You always showed all your family what it meant and felt like to be loved! You always looked at each and everyone one us with pride and joy. We were always awaiting a big hug from you when you walked through our door, no matter what the circumstances may be! We never took for granted or missed out on an opportunity for your hugs either. Your common remark would be "Have you hugged your Grandma yet?" Even if she already had one or two. You always and genuinely, cared about how our days and weeks had been since we'd seen you last. You always made the time to listen to our hopes and dreams or even just let us pour out an idea that didn't go just as well as we wanted, only to offer a suggestion for correction if you felt it was a benefit. Your wisdom and words of love were worth their weight in GOLD. JUST HOW YOU WERE TO ALL OF US, TREASURED LIKE GOLD!

Brenda’s abiding love for Jordan and myself sustained us. She believed that love happened all the time, everywhere. In that most important way, Brenda was never ironic, never cynical, never pessimistic. I try to learn from that, still. We love you very, very much. We will always love you and we miss you bunches!! Dylan Tyler "Tater-Digger" Whitfield

October 26, 1994 – March 18, 2012. Dylan was a Very Loving, Gentle, and Caring young man. He was Always willing to lend a helping hand. Dylan would always take the time to say Hello and ask how you are doing- even to strangers he passed along his way. Dylan had a deep, believing Faith and Love for The Lord Jesus. He showed this in Every aspect of his life. ” There is a Special Angel in Heaven, that is a part of me. It is not where I wanted him, but where God needed him to be. He was here but just a moment, like a night time shooting star. Though he is in Heaven, he isn’t very far. He Touched the Hearts of MANY, like only an Angel can do. So, I send this message to Heaven up above.” PLEASE Take Care of My Angel ( DYLAN ) and Send Him ALL MY LOVE ! FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
