2022 Transplant Games Team Indiana – Rebecca Kuczmanski

July 14, 2022

Kidney transplant recipient Rebecca Kuczmanski, 65, of Granger is a Team Indiana member who’ll be competing in the 2022 Transplant Games of America July 29-Aug. 3 in San Diego. Kuczmanski will compete in pickleball doubles and mixed doubles.

Rebecca Kuczmanski of Granger, Indiana received a kidney transplant in 2016. She was born with polycystic kidney disease, an inherited disorder in which clusters of cysts form within the kidneys. The condition causes kidneys to enlarge and decrease function.

Today, at 65, she’s living a healthy life – and ready to compete in the games.

“I’ve been an athlete all my life,” she said. “I exercise and take care of myself the best possible way after receiving my gift of life. I’m very excited to be competing in this year’s games.”

Kuczmanski’s husband, daughter and two grandsons will be making the trip to San Diego to cheer her on.

She’ll be competing in pickleball doubles and mixed doubles.
