Rose Parade Honoree’s Family to Depart for Pasadena

INDIANAPOLIS – Justin Langford, of Zionsville, Indiana, is representing Indiana donor heroes and their
families as Indiana Donor Network’s 2019 floragraph honoree on the Donate Life Rose Parade Float in
the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day.
On December 28, 2018, the Langford family will depart for Pasadena, California for the Rose Parade.
Media are invited to meet the Langfords at Indianapolis International Airport as we all wish the Langford
family a safe flight and good trip. They will be available for interviews at 6:30 AM in the food court area
of the airport.
ABOUT JUSTIN LANGFORD
Whether through playing music, kind words or wise counsel beyond his years, Justin David Langford
had a special way of making people feel understood and valued. He found joy, his family recalls,
engaging with those around him, and with a remarkable ease befriended people of all ages and walks
of life. His generous spirit was evident in countless ways throughout his 23 years, including his decision
to register as an organ donor.
When Justin died as the result of an on-the-job traffic accident in May 2014, his gift of organ donation
saved the lives of five people, including a two-year-old boy. Justin also enhanced more than 22 lives
through his gift of tissue and cornea donation.
ABOUT THE FLOAT
The Donate Life Rose Parade Float is the world’s most visible campaign to inspire organ, tissue and eye
donation. Together with Donate Life float riders, the floragraphs are the centerpiece of the national
campaign to raise awareness about the lifesaving impact of organ tissue and eye donation and
transplantation.
WHAT IS A FLORAGRAPH?
A floragraph is a portrait of a deceased organ, tissue or eye donor created with
organic materials such as spices, seeds and flowers.
The Rose Parade will be broadcast live starting at 11:00 AM on New Year’s Day. Tune in to the Donate
