The first contact a family has with Indiana Donor Network is from a skilled and compassionate Family Service Coordinator. Our specially trained coordinators initiate conversations with families of potential donors and provide the education and support they need during a very difficult time.

We are proud to welcome Pete as the newest member of the Family Services team. Let’s take a few moments to get to know him!

Name: Pete Lessing

Role: Family Service Coordinator

Department: Family Services

Tell us a little about yourself and your new role at Indiana Donor Network

I have boomeranged back to Indiana after being on the west coast and living/traveling to over 20 countries (It’s a long and winding story). Taking the road less traveled has been my guiding force, but raising a young family in Indiana has its perks.

My previous experience working in social services and working closely with families in crisis have provided me several skills to carry into this role. I look forward to the opportunity ahead and serving on the Family Services crew.

Of all employers, why did you choose Indiana Donor Network?

Life takes us on unexpected journeys, but I have learned to embrace a purpose through each season. As a heart and kidney recipient, I am passionate and extremely motivated to seeing lives changed through the medical miracles of organ and tissue donation.

What are you most excited about working at Indiana Donor Network?

I am inspired to work in a fast paced environment and be a part of a team dedicated to saving lives. All of my chips are at the center of the table.

When not at work, what do you do for fun?

I enjoy reading biographies, watching documentaries, grilling out with friends, hiking, making my little girls laugh, and spending as much time with my wife as possible.
