The Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Donor Network will work together to raise awareness around the need for organ, tissue and cornea donors

INDIANAPOLIS (November 9, 2019) – Indiana Donor Network has entered into a partnership with the Indianapolis Colts to raise awareness around organ, tissue and cornea donation and transplantation. Blue, the official mascot for the Indianapolis Colts, will help Indiana Donor Network reach thousands of football fans with the donation message through a new Mascots4Life campaign.

Blue, who was voted the 2019 NFL Mascot of the Year, will help educate people of all ages about the importance of donation at Colts games, through media and in other events.

Nationally, 114,000 people are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. That is twice the capacity of Lucas Oil Stadium. In Indiana alone, 1,300 people are awaiting a lifesaving organ transplant. One donor can save up to eight lives through organ donation and heal up to 75 people through tissue and cornea donation.

It takes less than 30 seconds to register at the BMV or at IndianaDonorNetwork.org.
