Indiana Donor Network Announces Virtual Fundraiser to Benefit Transplant Recipients and Donor Families

November 16, 2020

Season of Hope

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Donor Network Foundation invites Hoosiers to participate in Season of Hope, its first-ever virtual fundraiser benefitting transplant recipients and families of organ and tissue donors. The virtual fundraiser will go live on Nov. 23 and run through Dec. 20, 2020.

As an extension of Indiana Donor Network’s mission to save and heal lives through organ and tissue donation, Indiana Donor Network Foundation provides ongoing support to families of organ and tissue donors and financial assistance to transplant recipients in need. The foundation chose to launch a virtual fundraiser in response to the COVID-19 crisis, which forced the cancellation of many in-person events throughout 2020.

Season of Hope will allow participants to make tax-deductible donations in a range of price points that contribute to grief resources such as a Donor Hero Camp for children, medications needed for transplant recipients to remain healthy and educational scholarships. Those who wish to help can do so by visiting IndianaDonorNetwork.org/SeasonofHope.

Donor Hero Camp

In 2020, Indiana Donor Network launched Donor Hero Camp, which provides a space for children to be inspired to honor their loved ones, learn team building, and experience hope and healing. At camp, children receive donation and transplantation education and therapeutic support.

Medications for Recipients

After receiving a lifesaving organ transplant, recipients often experience financial hardships. Indiana Donor Network Foundation helps transplant recipients in need afford costly medications and other related expenses to remain healthy.

Scholarships

Indiana Donor Network Foundation’s scholarship program funds educational scholarships for the family members of Indiana organ and tissue donors, as well as living organ donors, transplant recipients, people waiting for organs and their family members.
