INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Donor Network welcomes Jefferson Hare, CPTC, as manager of in-house organ recovery and perfusion operations for its new on-site Organ and Tissue Recovery Center.

In this role, Hare will oversee the facility’s organ recovery suite, its intensive care unit and the critical care transport of organ donors from across the state to the Indianapolis location. The recovery center, which opened in May 2020, enables Indiana Donor Network to provide the best possible care for organ donors and their families and save more lives through donation and transplantation. Fewer than 20% of the country’s 57 organ recovery organizations have similar on-site organ recovery capabilities.

Hare says Indiana Donor Network’s focus on innovation drew him to the organization. “At Indiana Donor Network, we want to provide top-notch care for our donor heroes while ensuring that every opportunity to save and extend as many lives as possible will be realized,” said Hare. “I’m honored to join this team of highly motivated and dedicated staff to give families the opportunity for their loved ones to leave a lasting legacy.”

Hare brings to the role more than 15 years of organ procurement organization experience. Most recently, he served as CEO of Michigan-based Transplant Staffing Resources and as an advanced organ procurement coordinator for Phoenix-based Donor Call Solutions, two companies that provide staffing solutions for the donation and transplantation community. Through his travels, Hare worked with five of the country’s in-house organ recovery programs and played a role in implementing the program at Gift of Life Michigan, Michigan’s federally designated organ recovery organization. Prior to his career in donation and transplantation, he was a hospital corpsman in the United States Navy from 1991 to 2002.
