Miss Indiana USA 2018 Darrian Arch to Throw 1st Pitch at South Bend Cubs Game

June 27, 2018

Miss Indiana

SOUTH BEND, IN – This Friday, June 29, 2018, Miss Indiana USA 2018 Darrian Arch will be throwing the first pitch at the South Bend Cubs game as part of a partnership between the South Bend Cubs and Indiana Donor Network. The event, “Indiana Donor Network Night,” is intended to raise awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation.

Darrian’s mother, Dawn Arch, is currently waiting for a kidney transplant. She is one of the 115,000 Americans and over 1,400 Hoosiers currently awaiting a lifesaving organ transplant. On average, 22 of these patients die each day because the organ they needed did not become available in time.

Regarding the event, Darrian stated, “I am excited to be able to share my mother’s story with South Bend Cubs fans. Indiana Donor Network saves lives by inspiring people to register as donors and thanking those who already are.”

Indiana Donor Network staff and volunteers will be hosting a donation information and registration display located near the Guest Services desk during Friday’s game. South Bend Cubs fans who are already registered donors, or who choose to register at the display, can enter a drawing to win special jerseys worn by players during Friday night’s game. Darrian will also be intermittently available for comment at the display.

Any media without South Bend Cubs credentials will need to submit a media request to Chris Hagstrom- Jones at chagstrom@southbendcubs.com at least 24 hours prior to the game.
