INDIANAPOLIS – The American Journal of Transplantation has published a study about Indiana Donor Network and process changes that have allowed the organization to see enormous growth over the past year.

“We are extremely proud of our team and the improvements in our ability to recover and transplant lifesaving organs,” said Kellie Hanner, Indiana Donor Network president and CEO. “Together with our many clinical partners, we are looking to continue that success in 2021 and beyond.”

The publication of the study, whose authors included Hanner and Indiana Donor Network Chief Operating Officer Steve Johnson, comes two months after Indiana Donor Network announced it set new records for both the number of organ donors and the number of lifesaving organs transplanted in a single calendar year. The organization is currently on pace to facilitate 30% more lifesaving organ transplants in 2020 compared to 2019, which was also a record-breaking year.
